Fly On The Ford

We were excited to be a stop on the recent EAA tour of the Ford Tri-Motor aircraft. This beautifully restored, historic 1929 aircraft helped launch the era of commercial flight and was available for rides to the public. See our Facebook page for pic-tures and videos from July 11-14. We had wonderful weather for the event which was a fundraiser for the Plainwell Aviation & STEM Academy. During the event, we also hosted a VIP cocktail party with many special guests who enjoyed a tour of the hangar as well as the Ford Tri-Motor. It’s always a great time renewing ac-quaintances with friends of RAI Jets! We also were de-lighted to host a luncheon and tour for residents of StoryPoint assisted living along with a representative from Congressman Fred Upton’s office. Check out Story-Point’s Facebook for a spirited video recap of the day. What a fun group! Thanks to the EAA, PASA, and all who attended for making it a great event.

Miracles Happen With Aircraft Charter

Part of our work as a Part 135 operator is helping medical teams do their life-saving work of transporting organs from the donor site to the recipient awaiting the transplant. This time we flew the doctors from Ohio, where the organ was removed, and transported them to the recipient in Michigan in under an hour. Timing is critical and these flights test our dispatch, line service, and flight crew’s ability to be ready at a moment’s notice. We’re proud that our charter service can help others do such important work!

New Improvements at AZO

This summer, the Kalamazoo Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) com-pleted a $5 million resurfacing of several runways used by major air carri-ers, and necessary for take-off of our Citation III and Xs. We continued to serve our customers by moving our aircraft to our Sturgis location, where they had the required, longer runways available. Our King Air remained at AZO where it could still take-off using alternate runways. Our bigger jets and our passen-gers are now enjoying the new and improved AZO runways!
