Where Will 2019 Take You?

2019 is all about making plans and people usually agree the most exciting ones involve getting on a plane. Is it time to do something for yourself? We can help. See you in the skies!  Your RAI Jets Team

RAI Pilots Head for the Hall of Fame

We are proud to announce that two of our RAI pilots, Jeffrey Randall (pictured here in his military days) and Doug Swartz (featured in our last Hangar Tales) have both been nominated for inclusion in the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame!

Captain Doug Swartz has been flying our Citation III for the last 13 years and is an experienced pilot with more than 19,000 hours of military and civilian flight time logged. He’s a Detroit native who graduated with a degree in engineering from Michigan State and eventually did a tour of duty in Vietnam where he flew more than 300 combat missions and was awarded the “Distinguished Flying Cross”.

Captain Jeff Randall also flies for us and is a native of Battle Creek. He trained as a naval aviator and flew missions off the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk mission in South and North Vietnam, earning 20 air medals. After his military career he was hired by the FAA as an airspace system inspection pilot and was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of safe pilot operations.

Voting is taking place now and the winners will be honored at the Air Zoo’s Science Innovation Hall of Fame Gala on April 13. Good luck to both of our fine RAI pilots! They’re both Hall of Famers in our book!

RAI at 2019 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatch Conference

Becky and Christina were in San Antonio, TX this year for the National Business Aviation Association’s Scheduler’s and Dispatch Conference, Jan. 29-Feb. 1. We enjoyed reuniting with clients and meeting those we had previously only spoken to over the phone.

In the educational sessions, we learned of the new regulations for air charter operators, including the finalization of Part 295, a rule designed to increase charter transportation options and protect consumers who purchase charter flights through brokers. We also learned about the Advanced Tax/FAA/SEC regulatory considerations for aircraft operators and new safety and emergency plans for charter flights. Becky also was able to complete a required class for her CAM (Certified Aviation Manager) certificate.

Looking forward to bringing all our new knowledge to the service of our RAI Jets clients!
