(STURGIS, MI) —September 2, 2015 RAI Jets LLC, a Sturgis, MI-based private jet charter and jet management company, has received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The company is also concurrently certified by the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) program of the Small Business Administration.
The certification program exists to bridge the gap in contracting activities between women business enterprises and corporate government buyers. “We are honored to have this distinction,” said Rebecca Bakeman, president of RAI Jets, LLC. “We are hopeful that our new status will provide growth opportunity by providing diversity in our client and potential client vendor base.”

WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Great Lake’s Women’s Business Council is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
